Encouraging African Young Pharmaceutical Scientists Participation in boosting Pharmaceutical Research, development and manufacturing for a higher future medicine and economic security in Africa.

Majority of African young Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists are mostly utilized in pharmaceutical sales and marketing jobs/ businesses including retail and highly underutilized in pharmaceutical research and manufacturing.

This has resulted to low engagement of African young scientists in research, drug development, manufacturing and raw materials research and this poses a great risk to the medicine security of Africa in the future.

According to WHO, U.S.A is the top Pharmaceutical Manufacturing nation in the world due to the high level of Research and Development.

Advancement of local pharmaceutical manufacturing in Africa can reduce "dependency on imported essential medicines, vaccines, biologics, rare drugs and traditional pharmaceutical products"; and it's drastic effect on the health of Africans. In an article by Alison Buckholtz, during the COVID-19 pandemic, African countries suffered shortage of medicines due to a halt in the oversea countries export activities. Fostering African Youths involvement in the advancement of local pharmaceutical manufacturing can be achieved through, advocacy programs, youths friendly government policies, pharmaceutical research grants, competent pharmaceutical research education and training, establishing more research institutes and industries that absorb more youths, encouraging entrepreneurship in local manufacturing among young Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists and credit facility offers. "African Youths active involvement in pharma manufacturing and research" is a boost in medicine and economic security. Pharmaceutical research and manufacturing is crucial for developing new treatments, ensuring medicines availability and advancing health initiatives. In Africa, multinational companies dominate the drug market, while in foreign countries, local companies dominate the market and as such, no pharma company in Africa is among the global top important contributors to the production and manufacture of medicines.

The role of African Youths in advancing local pharmaceutical manufacturing needs to receive heavy attention and action as "African Youths active involvement in pharma manufacturing and research" is a boostin medicine and economic security of Africa
